This site is designed to work without requiring an account or asking visitors for personal information.
What this site collects
The Burlington Election Guide does not currently provide user accounts, mailing-list signups, advertising profiles or an on-site contact form. The site itself does not intentionally collect your name, email address, precise location or political preferences.
A small preference may be stored in your browser so the site can remember whether you selected light mode or dark mode. That setting stays in your browser unless you clear it.
Hosting and technical information
The site is hosted using GitHub Pages. Like most web-hosting and network providers, GitHub and related infrastructure may process ordinary technical information needed to deliver a webpage, such as an IP address, browser information, request time and requested page. Their handling of that information is governed by their own policies.
This policy describes the Burlington Election Guide itself; it cannot control information independently collected by a third-party service.
External links and translation
The guide links to government pages, news organizations, candidate websites, public records, social platforms and other third-party sources. Following those links takes you to services with their own privacy practices.
If you choose the site's translation control, your page address is sent to Google Translate so that service can provide a machine-translated version. Translation is optional and may contain errors. The English page remains the site's original version.
Feedback, corrections and removal requests
If you submit feedback through the linked GitHub issue system, information you choose to post may be public and associated with your GitHub account. Do not include private information that you do not want published.
For a correction, privacy concern or removal request, use the Help & feedback page. Requests are reviewed rather than automatically accepted. Private contact details supplied only to resolve a request should not be republished.
Changes to this policy
The site may add or change features over time. If a feature materially changes how visitor information is handled, this page should be updated to explain the change.
